Today Andrew and I went to Peyton's fabulous Minnie Mouse party at Tammy and Jon's house. Peyton turns two this week, and I have been looking forward to her party for the last month. Andrew wasn't sure what to think of all of the people, but I think he enjoyed himself. I got to take some good pictures and have a nice time, because Kathie (a.k.a. the baby whisperer) was eager for some time with Andrew.
They even had a bouncy house for the kids, which Andrew tried out.
You can see he is having a wonderful time. :) Judging from these next two photos, I may have been bouncing him a little too fast!
I think Peyton really had a fun-filled day and was thrilled with all the Minnie gifts!

Peyton LOVES Andrew! She would not stop kissing him when we came over last weekend, and she smiles and says "baby" every time he comes around. Today was no exception. She was so excited to see "the baby" and kiss him all over. She even showed him her Minnie balloons.
Mike and I have been in awe of how many changes Andrew has gone through over the last two weeks. Just a few short weeks ago, you had to keep a close eye on him so he wouldn't fall backwards. Now he is crawling and pulling himself up on things, which has made me have to step up my game! This has probably been the happiest Andrew has ever been, because if you know Andrew, you know he likes to do what he wants to do, and he doesn't like to be confined! A few weeks ago I took him to the doctor for a minor cold, and she told me that he was the most stubborn baby she had ever worked with, because he refused to open his mouth. I couldn't help but laugh, because a woman working at the doc-band clinic that fitted him for his helmet in May told us the same thing. Over the last few weeks he does a back-bend every time you try and get him in his high chair or car seat. We need two people to get him in his car seat, and I had to come up with creative ways to feed him when I couldn't get him in his high chair. Thankfully he seems to be getting over that the last few days. I'm a little nervous for what's in store for me in the upcoming years. :) Maybe he will outgrow his "baby attitude". :) We can't help but sing "Bad to The Bone" to him once in a while. He laughs every time! Does this look like the face of trouble to you? :)
After returning from Andrew's 9 month check-up this week, we found out he now weighs 17 pounds 12 ounces and is 27.5 inches long. While he is only in the 10% percentile for his weight (due to being 5 weeks early), we are so happy with how much he has grown this year. The first few months were a little scary. We were a little surprised to find out that his head was in the 70% percentile. :)

We did have to retire his play center because he kept pushing it over or pulling the whole thing down on his head:
This month Andrew also started on puffs and teething biscuits in addition to his baby food. Mommy is always nervous that he is going to choke, so don't be surprised if he still eating baby food 5 years from now. By the looks of this picture, you would think that he enjoyed this high chair--this is not true:
Here he is eating his puffs. He can't use 2 fingers to pick them up yet, so he just grabs a bunch and shoves them in his mouth:
Here is a video of him getting a teething biscuit for the first time. As you can see, it did not go over well. However, he did figure out what to do with it once the camera was turned off.
He has also really been enjoying his room lately. I like to shut the door (with me in there, of course) and just let him crawl around and check everything out.
Andrew is always happy to spend some time outdoors each day. He loves grass! I let him pick it, but I have to make sure he doesn't eat any. He has even started riding in his big boy stroller now that he can sit up.
He still LOVES Mickey Mouse Playhouse, and his day is not complete without some Mickey in it.
A few weeks ago, I came out of the bathroom, and I saw that he was completely captivated by something on TV. It was a hip hop dance video for kids called "Choo Choo Soul" on Disney. It came on after Mickey Mouse ended, and I knew I had to grab my video camera when I saw his face. Every time I watch this video, I crack up!
Now that he has started crawling this past week, we can hardly keep up with him! We still need to do some serious baby-proofing in our house.
Yesterday I went to make him a bottle while he was playing in his room, and I turn around and see him in the hallway within seconds:
When I go see what kind of trouble he was getting himself into in the bathroom, I find him in his favorite spot:
After he had his bottle, it was time for a nap. I still hear him "talking" 30 minutes later, so I peek in and see him standing in his crib. It's time to lower the mattress!
All of this activity sometimes means baby jail for Andrew, so I can do simple every day things like go to the bathroom:
No matter how tired I am at the end of each day, I still can't wait to see his little face in the morning!
On Sunday, Andrew took his first boat ride on Grandma and Grandpa Oberheim's boat. At first he wasn't sure what to make of everything since he was stuffed into a child-eating life preserver, but once he got used to it, he seemed to really enjoy himself!
He went from not so sure....
...to maybe it's not too bad....
...to AWESOME!
But nothing compared to "driving" the boat once we were docked!
