Andrew's Antics

Here are some of my favorite pics from the past two weeks. He keeps me on my toes!

He went to a birthday party for a girl at daycare, and I had no idea just how close they were until I saw them together! They even sat in the same chair while she blew the candles out on her cake. So sweet. They had a bounce house, which is Andrew's favorite thing in the whole world.

He has been just amazing me with how much he understands and has started using full sentences the past couple of weeks He has been especially close with one of his stuffed bunnies lately, which is so cute. Last night he brought him to music and even got bunny some shakers to use. He bent down and said, "Here you go" to the bunny and gave him the shakers. This morning he fed bunny and even asked if I could put one of his diapers on bunny.

Below is a video of when Mike's parents left on Saturday night. He wasn't happy about it! He calls them Gaga and Papa John.

I have some other funny videos on my video camera, but I am having some trouble getting them transferred at the moment. Hopefully more to come soon....

The Pacifier Fairy

For the last week, we have been telling Andrew that the paci fairy was going to come to our house, because he was a big boy now and didn't need his paci's anymore. There were babies that really needed his paci's, so the fairy was going to take the paci's and give him some big boy toys. The first two nights I told him, he started crying. After a couple of days, he started saying, "presents!" when we talked about it. Last Friday night was the big night. We put all the pacifiers in a box, and I let him keep one for his mouth.

Once he fell asleep, the fairy took the paci's and the one that he had in his mouth. At about 3 AM, Andrew woke up and started asking for his paci because he couldn't find it. With fear in my voice (haha), I said that the fairy had come, but we couldn't go see what she brought for a few more hours. To my absolute surprise, he said "Yea!" and actually fist pumped the air and went back to sleep. In the morning, he ran out to see what she brought. She had brought a hot wheels truck, a helicopter, and replaced the paci's with coins. She even left him a nice note about how proud she was of him. :)

Andrew was THRILLED when he opened them. He carried his toys around all day saying, "paci", which is what he calls the fairy. We just ran into one minor issue. When I told him the fairy was coming earlier in the week, he asked if she was going to take his monkey. I said that she would definitely leave his monkey. Monkey has a paci on it, but he refused to suck on it. It is his most cherished toy. I bought it so I wouldn't have to wake up in the middle of the night to find his pacifiers. However, he used monkey as his stuffed animal and refused to suck on the pacifier part. You can see he has monkey in the pic above, as well as in the picture last week where he comes out to see his Easter basket. WELL, he decided that night that he would give monkey a little try! Now I had to figure out what we were going to do with monkey. When he went to daycare on Monday, I poked a hole in the end and he didn't look any different. When he tried him that night, he gave him to me and said, "broken." That was the end of that. I'm not going to lie. I'm shocked at how well this has gone. Not one tear, and he has been without them for a week now. He asks about them at least once a day, and every day I remind him that the fairy took them so he could have him big boy toys. He either says, "yeah" or "why", but no issues at all. I'm so happy!

Easter 2013

This year, Andrew knew the bunny was coming and he was pretty excited about it! We got all ready the night before by putting out carrots for the bunny. It was a little funny, because we started putting them on the deck, and the dog started eating all off them. Andrew started screaming, "No, no, no!! Easter bunny!" I could not help but laugh. I'm terrible.  I just kept trying to tell him that we would put more down.

Yes, she is wearing a Christmas collar that he put on her minutes before.

Saturday night was awesome, because you could get him to do anything because the bunny was was coming. I told him that if we didn't clean up, the bunny was going to trip when he was walking through. I have never seen him clean like this before. He cleaned every room. He was ready!

Taking her bone outside so Andrew won't take it

After all the excitement died off, I meet my dad up at his church while Mike and Andrew played with the new toys. After Andrew's nap, we did a quick egg hunt in the backyard that turned out to be bust. I couldn't tell why he was upset, but he start throwing the eggs, so we went inside.

We then headed over to Mike's parents' house for dinner and another egg hunt. This egg hunt went better, because Marcia put candy and money in the eggs. My eggs were empty and boring. HAHA.

On Monday, he even got to color eggs at daycare. Something I was way too scared to do here! She had a bunch of left over eggs and was feeling daring, I guess!
