Mickey Pumpkin

On Thursday evening, I had Andrew put together his Mickey pumpkin. I thought it would be so much easier than carving and definitely less messy. His eyes just lit up when he saw the pumpkin pieces, and I couldn't get the pieces out quickly enough for him.

On Friday, I put out some of the remaining Halloween decorations that I usually reserve until the week of Halloween. I got this wreath at Michael's last year for 80% off in November. So cool!

I also put out our light-up pumpkin and this little guy:

Andrew was thrilled when he got home from daycare. It was windy and cold, and we spent a good 15 minutes out there while he checked everything out. He was upset when we came in, and so I gave him a cookie (which works for most things). I went into the kitchen for a second, and when I came back, he was smearing cookie all over the couch.

I've learned that you can clean almost anything with baby wipes. Andrew has been really funny this past week. For music class, he had to bring the Farm and Fleet Toy Land ad. I thought he would forget about it once we were there, but he was very serious about bringing it into class. When we got in there, the teacher asked what he had, and everybody laughed when they saw him sitting with the ad playing instruments. The best thing to do is just sneak things away from him, because the tantrum just isn't worth it. Right now he just loves to plug in a light up pumpkin inside our house. That is the pumpkin he has next to him in the decorating pics above. I always tell him to get mommy's help if he is going to plug it into the wall. The other night I saw him go up to the outlet that had plug covers in it, and I told him he would not be able to use that plug. Do you know what he did? He yanked the outlet cover out in less than one second and plugged the pumpkin in! This is the same outlet cover that takes me 10 seconds to pull out, because it hurts my fingers so much. Such a stinker!

Right now one of his favorite toys is this red wagon that I got at a garage sale for $3 across the street this summer. This is the one of the reasons why I cannot get him in his car seat or bring him into the house each day, because he wants to play in his wagon. No matter where you put it, he will find it. Here it is in all its glory:

He always tries to bring it into the house and for 3 months I have told him no. WELL, after a long day where I was too tired to hear his cries, I let him bring that gross thing into the house. Not only was it in my house, but it was literally on the bed the other night, because he didn't want to snuggle and wind down without the wagon ON the bed. I think we know who is in charge here!  I was also injured because of this wagon. I was just trying to go to the bathroom when the bathroom door flies open and Jez runs in with Andrew chasing her with the red wagon. Well, of course Jez has no where to hide and rips the skin off my foot with her claw while Andrew is ramming a wagon into her. All while I am on the toilet. Yep, I yelled (or maybe screamed?). Mommy guilt soon followed.

I also thought this was a cute picture. He gets into the dog collars every few days, and I think he really resembles Mr. T here.

He likes to wear the collars just like Jez, and sometimes he wants to be too much like Jez (he has choked on a dog biscuit twice now while eating it on all fours, as well as lapping up dirty water outside at the same time as her). My friend, Christina, just blogged about one of her daughters (21 months) acting like a cat, so this must be a popular toddler activity. It is really cute, though!

A couple of other pics from the week:

He has still been doing GREAT at daycare, and here are a few more favorites that he "made" over there.

He also made a really cool necklace that I didn't take a picture of and this totally cute hat that he was wearing outside when I picked him up Thursday.

Boating with Grandma and Grandpa

Last Sunday evening, Andrew got to take a ride on Grandma and Grandpa Oberheim's boat. It was a little chilly as the sun went down, but Andrew was so thrilled about feeding the ducks bread that he didn't seem to mind.

Grandpa showed him how to use the horn, and Andrew had a wonderful time holding the horn button down for 10 seconds at a time.

Captain Andrew

After shaking his booty to the radio, including Crazy Train, it was time to snuggle with Grandma.

All Hallow's Eve

On Saturday, we took Andrew to All Hallow's Eve at Midway Village, which I absolutely love. The kids can go trick or treating at the houses there, and the whole town setting is just beautiful with all the leaves and Halloween decorations. Andrew went as Elmo this year, and the costume really did look like a real Elmo if you were looking at it from the right angle. The kids were calling out "Elmo!" as we walked along, and Andrew had no idea that it was him they were trying to see. One toddler just went nuts and was hanging on him while he was just trying to get her off him.
When we arrived, we met up with Tammy, Kaden, and Peyton. We had to get a few pictures together! Peyton was upset about something at the time, which made the pictures a little funny.

Here is one where it really looks like Elmo!

Peyton cheered up after a minute or two, and so we tried again:

Then it was off for some trick or treating!

Heading for the first house...

Andrew was actually more interested in collecting leaves, pine cones, and rocks for his basket. Mike and I were encouraging him to get some good candy for mommy and daddy.

Here is a picture from last year in the same spot:

Big Foot does exist...

We got off track there for a minute, but now we're back in business.

My favorite from the day.

The highlight of Andrew's day. Once he saw them, he couldn't focus on anything else.

Candy check....

A Pencil?

 A sucker...yum!
