Tumbling Class

Andrew is in his third week of a "tumbling" class called Spot Tots. The verdict is still out on what I think of the class, as he had a really great night last night, but the first two weeks were a little rough. Some of the things are a little advanced for him (class is for 18 months to 3 years), and he doesn't like to wait his turn, but I think the trampoline made it all worth it last night! The actual tumbling is a little much right now (cartwheels, handstands, etc), and I am doing all the work! The things he loves are jumping off the ramp into the blue foam pit, swinging from the rope, and the trampoline! The first 10 minutes of class is usually singing songs and playing sticks, and the last 10 minutes they sometimes crawl through hoops or play with the parachute. He's got those things down. He is also a pro at crawling across the balance beam. Here are some not so great pics I tried to get last night while trying to make sure he doesn't hurt himself or run away at the same time.

Last night they jumped off the balance beam into the pit

Bouncing!

Before this shot, he actually bolted away while I was holding a hoop, and I had to drop it on some poor kid going through to catch him. He will just run right out in front of the actual gymnasts on the bars or on the floor.

Getting a stamp at the end
Happy with his sucker on the way home

This past weekend, we ended up switching his car seat to face forward, which has made a huge difference. He just loves looking out the window!

On Sunday, Mike made the switch, and we headed over to Woodstock to eat and go shopping in their square. Andrew was so happy with the change!

Our initial plan was to eat and shop, and then have Andrew sleep in the car on the way home. Well, he fell asleep 5 minutes before we got there, so we had to go through Wendy's drive thru. Ha! Then we drove around and ate for about an hour. When he woke up, he ate his lunch and went shopping. I still wanted to eat at my favorite restaurant, so we passed the time looking at toys at Walmart. It didn't help it was raining the whole day! After dinner, we headed home after about 7 hours of fun!

Visiting Great Grandpa and Birthday Parties

Two weekends ago, we stopped by Great Grandpa Peterson's house for a visit. It was a nice, cool afternoon, and Andrew had fun playing ball in the backyard.

Andrew shared his ball and his grapes with Great Grandpa.

The next morning, Andrew headed over to Monkey Joe's for Peyton's third birthday. I think his favorite part was the pizza! He ate and ate, even when the rest of the kids were done eating and opening presents.

Hoping Peyton liked her mermaid for the bathtub....

Adorable Strawberry Shortcake cake...

I didn't get any playing shots, because I was too busy following Andrew around, but Tammy sent me a cute one to my phone! He had so much fun going down the slide in this bouncy. He would climb up the stairs himself and then slide down on his stomach with his mouth wide open with happiness.

This past weekend, we had such a fun Sunday. We went to Mike's cousin's daughter's birthday party, and we had a whole park to ourselves (only the people invited to the party were in the park). From 3:00 up until however long you wanted to stay, you could play on the playground, mini-putt, play basketball, or play under the water playground. Andrew got to mini-putt for the first time! All that living room putting paid off!

Oh, man, did he love these swings! It doesn't look like we are swinging, but we are.

I was actually a little scared here.

Yum.

A little later, he found me sneaking an Oreo from my desk drawer and begged to try one.

Yes, he has marker on his face and neck here. :)

We also met Mike's Aunt from Arizona for dinner, so Andrew was exhausted that night! On Sunday, we went over to Tammy's to play for a while, and then we all headed out for dinner. Andrew lasted about 5 minutes before wanting to get down from his booster seat.

I just wanted to add one last picture from yesterday evening, because he was being so silly. He brought all the toys out from the garage and lined them up outside in the back. He then had me pull him in the wagons and push him on the bike, which is not always easy in grass. I was facing the sun with my cell phone, so I had to take a couple, because I couldn't see what I was taking a picture of.

Photos from Raptor Tots

Below are some of the pics I took of Andrew and Peyton on Saturday at Raptor Tots.

Warming up before class starts...

Andrew's favorite part of class is stacking the cones and kicking them over.

Water break. Andrew turns down the water every time, but Peyton grabs a drink.

Listening for directions on the bubble stomping exercise. Coach Heather blows the bubbles ans they stomp or kick them like dinosaurs.

Let the stomping begin!

Here he is watching coach on how to kick the balloons...

....and he's off!

His least favorite part. Coming back to his "spot" after every activity.

Andrew and Peyton getting a stamp after practice.

1...2..3...I  LOVE SOCCER!
