Halloween

Halloween was very cold and rainy this year, but we didn't let that stop our fun! When Andrew woke up, he opened his Halloween cards from family and/friends that I like to set aside.

I bought one of these headbands for each of the kids at daycare. They looked so cute!

Getting ready to head out for trick or treating that evening...

Due to all the rain that evening, we decided to just hit a couple of streets with his friend, Myles. Scary dragon and batman had an awesome time. At first it was miserable and the umbrella was blowing inside out, but it stopped raining after a while.

We decided to go back when Andrew's candy became too heavy for him. He certainly didn't want our help carrying it!

Counting his loot...

Giving Jez her treats....

Jez's new bandana that said, "I do tricks for treats."

Pumpkin Festival

On Friday evening, my dad and Myrna came over and we took Andrew to the pumpkin patch. They had a couple of bounce houses up and he got to ride the ponies.

Saturday, we went to a Halloween party at Lombardi Club with Mike's parents and Andrew even won second place in a costume contest!

Sunday he went to the Sycamore Pumpkin Festival and got to go to his first parade. He loved it!! He waved and clapped at everybody.

Job Update

Well, it has not been an easy week, as I was laid off last Tuesday from my job. While I knew the company was really struggling, it still came as a little bit of a surprise. I would have been there 11 years in February. They ended up laying off about 500 people, and it was a hard one to take. They laid off some really, really great people on this round. When I heard the names of the people that were in the same meeting as me, I thought I was safe for a second, but it looks like we all went down together. I am going to get a somewhat decent severance, and I am still able to facilitate courses on the side. The support I have received from everybody has been wonderful. The thing that I will miss the most is the people, but I am confident we will all stay in touch.

Right now we have been weighing our different options and have really been leaning on moving after Christmas. We won't go too far, but moving closer to the city opens up a lot more opportunity. One thing I have been really sad about is taking Andrew out of his daycare, so we are probably still going to have him go a few days a week. He is pretty shy, so it makes me happy to see him play with his friends there and learn new things. She actually has a curriculum that she follows. If I tried to teach him the things that they do at home, he would just run off. :) He seems to really flourish developmentally and socially, so I hate to pull him out.

For now, I have just been getting my resume together and taking it all in. I will probably take a few months off before I start job searching. It will be easier to move if I am not working. I would preferably like to get something from home again, but we will see! More to come on this.....

All Hallows Eve

Saturday was another great time at All Hallows Eve. Andrew really got into the trick or treating this year. We just have to make sure we now limit how much candy he eats!
