Andrew started indoor soccer two weeks ago, which was a big stepping stone, because ever since he played outdoor soccer last fall, he has been afraid to play. I saw they had a class at the same time and day as the basketball class we had been going to, so I thought the only difference would be the type of ball they used! Well, I was right! He did great!
The funny part is that the only position he will play during a game is goalie (please note that the other team does not use a goalie---this is just where he wants to stand).
In yesterday's game, he would not take his hands out of his pockets while playing, and I kept standing behind the goal when the players came his way saying, "Andrew, here they come! Take your hands out of your pockets and get ready!" Nope. He blocked every single shot with his hands in his pockets. The parents were laughing and cheering. It was hilarious.
It has been a long and cold winter, and we have been running of ideas of things to do around here. However, spring has made an appearance this past week, and we all have a hop in our step.
We have also been getting ready for Easter and already dyed our eggs this year!
Last weekend was Mike's birthday (37!!), and we had a great night out while Mike's parents took him for the night. It was extra nice to sleep in even though it was the same night we jumped our clocks ahead...
