My Little Hockey Player

I was looking for something active for Andrew to do in the month of April, as there was not much going on, and I saw they had chair hockey class for ages 3 and up at the ice arena. He said he wanted to try it, and so I signed him up for the 4 weeks course. I had no idea he was going to love it so much! Last week was the last week, and he is skating without the chair. He is so determined to go into the next class, which doesn't use chairs. He asked to keep going, so I'm going to do one more month of chair hockey to make sure he is ready for the next class up (Rat Rinks). Hopefully he won't get too serious about it, as I would like him to keep his brain and teeth! Ha!

We can't get him to leave at the end of practice.

Helmet was not a very good fit that week!

Learning how to stand up on skates

Snow angels...his favorite part

We were also able to get in our first mini putting session this year. One of Andrew's favorite things to do. He has been asking about it for months! It will be snowing, and he will ask to go mini putting.

It was also "Pet Month" in Andrew's class at school. Jez was the only pet in his class that could make it. It was pretty entertaining. The kids loved it! I was a little nervous bringing her into a church, but they said I could. HA! The first thing Andrew said to the class was that she could do tricks. She didn't do one thing...not even sit! Too funny! She turned 11 on Saturday. You can't teach an old dog new tricks, right?

I have been dealing with all sorts of neck problems and headaches lately, which is making me want to scream. I had botox again at the pain management center 2 weeks ago, so I am hoping to get some relief soon (they said 3-4 weeks). I have had a ton of luck with it in the past. I have also been teaching four classes for the first time for work, which is not quite as easy as three. A lot of time on the computer. That combined with stress usually doesn't help!

Yesterday, we went to go visit my best friend, Tammy, in the hospital, as she just had her third baby! We can't wait to make Baby Brady part of our lives.

We also took a trip to the Burpee Museum after our hospital visit. They have a really cool fossil exhibit going on this month.

Visiting Family

Last week, Andrew was on spring break, so I decided to take the week off of work. I thought it would be a good time to go visit my dad's mom and my mom's parents. While Andrew did really well in the car on the way home, he did not make things easy on the way there. We arrived in one piece (sanity not included), which was the important part! The way there was a 4 hour trip that took me 7 hours. The way home was a 5.5 hour trip that took me up about 7.5 hours. It was worth it, though! We made quite a few stops.

We visited my dad's mom first, and we spent some time outside and saw the new movie Home.We were also lucky enough to see my Uncle Scott and his wife, Marianna.

The Easter Bunny just happened to stop by and leave a basket outside Great Grandma's door!

On Thursday, we headed over to my mom's parents' house. My Aunt Susan, Uncle Paul, and Amy (my cousin) also stopped by. They brought their dog, Josie, who was a big hit with Andrew.

So wonderful to see everybody. I wish we lived closer!

I had a blast helping Andrew's class dye Easter eggs and have an egg hunt.
